Kanagawa quietly has one of the best pickleball setups in Japan: 21 venues from Yokohama and Kawasaki down the Shonan coast, including KPI PARK's ten outdoor courts in Totsuka. Here is where to play and how to get on court.
Yokohama leads, the chains fill in the map, and one park changes the whole picture. Four things to know.
Ten dedicated outdoor courts in Totsuka, Yokohama, open early to late for around ¥3,000 an hour. It is the biggest single pickleball setup in the prefecture and worth the trip on its own.
More than half the venues sit in these two cities, from Ocean Pickle Club's indoor courts in Tsurumi to gym chains like NAS, Megalos, and Tipness running scheduled sessions.
Yamato and Sagamihara cover the middle of the prefecture, Fujisawa and Hiratsuka put courts near the Shonan coast, and Samukawa hides an indoor rental court at Masa Sports System.
Dedicated courts rent by the hour online, gym chains use scheduled sessions, and Round One Kawasaki Daishi is the walk-in option. Prices run roughly ¥3,000 to ¥6,600 an hour.

Court rental runs from about ¥3,000 per hour at KPI PARK to around ¥6,600 at central gym locations, with most venues in the ¥3,000 to ¥5,500 range. Split a court four ways and it gets very reasonable per person.
Yes. Ocean Pickle Club in Tsurumi, Masa Sports System in Samukawa, the Noah tennis schools, and Round One Kawasaki Daishi all play indoors, so rain never has to cancel a session.
A dedicated outdoor pickleball park in Totsuka, Yokohama, with ten courts, open daily from early morning to 11pm at around ¥3,000 per court per hour. It is one of the largest dedicated pickleball setups in the Tokyo area and hosts a busy mix of open play and events.
Kanagawa sits close to several US installations, and venues like Yamato's NAS Minami-Rinkan and the Sagamihara clubs are a short hop from Atsugi and Camp Zama. The sport crosses the language barrier easily. Find a local group on Pikuru and you will have games the same week.
