Chatan Sports Center has outdoor courts with paddle rentals in the beach town at the heart of Okinawa’s international community. Effort Tennis Club nearby runs lessons.
Resorts take it seriously
Halekulani Okinawa up the Kunigami coast rents court time daily from 10am to 7pm at ¥5,100 an hour, paddles included in the rental options.
Miyakojima has a court with your name on it
Irabuvilla runs a dedicated outdoor pickleball court that is free for guests, with open play. Paddle, ocean, done.
The scene is still young

Yes. Irabuvilla has a dedicated outdoor pickleball court with open play, free for guests. It is the only Miyakojima venue in our data so far, which for a remote island is not a bad start.
Do I need to bring my own paddle to Okinawa?
Not necessarily. Chatan Sports Center and Halekulani Okinawa both list paddle rentals, and Irabuvilla runs open play on its own court. If you are visiting light, you can still play.
