How pickleball works in Osaka.
Osaka City holds most of the venues, Sakai has the dedicated base, and the northern suburbs run open play. Four things to know.
Sakai has the dedicated base
Pickleball Base Osaka runs six dedicated outdoor courts in Sakai, open 8am to 10pm daily at ¥2,500 an hour, with lessons for newcomers.
Public courts from ¥500
Nagai Pool and the four courts at Nanko Chuo in Osaka City rent from around ¥500 an hour, some of the cheapest court time in the country. Book ahead, they are city facilities.
Lessons everywhere
The Noah tennis and badminton school network teaches pickleball at six Osaka branches, and Lusty schools in Takatsuki and Neyagawa run open play sessions alongside classes.
Midnight pickleball exists
Round One Stadium Sennichimae in Namba lists pickleball around the clock with paddle rentals, so a late game after dinner in Dotonbori is genuinely an option.
